Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese healing technique.  It was not until the 6th Century A.D. that acupuncture crossed to Japan and Korea, before moving on to the rest of South East Asia and India.  Europe had to wait until the 16th Century.
In the 1950s China started teaching acupuncture to foreigners.  Since 1975, at the request of the World Health Organisation, international training courses have been held.

In recent years China has carried out thousands of studies comparing the relative benefits of acupuncture to western medicine.  The results have shown that each has their strengths and so acupuncture continues to thrive with equal status to western medicine.

The basis of Chinese medicine is to treat conditions in the body which are out of balance. When needles are correctly applied, deficiency or excess will be regulated, harmonising the body and removing disease.
