Electro-acupuncture is often likened to TENS, but is more effective in the treatment of chronic pain. Also benefits continue after treatment and improve with repeated treatments. TENS is only effective while the treatment is active, but is beneficial for acute and post op pain relief. It is also helpful for reducing pain during a course of IMS treatment.
